Starstruck...

Today, I am joining Megan and Nora over at Two Birds.  They have a weekly link up titled Inspiration Monday.  It's pretty simple really.  Each week they post a photo of a gorgeous celebrity looking effortlessly beautiful, and bloggers are invited to share their inspired outfit post.  The key word is inspiration.  I harbor no illusions of being a 26 year old.  I do however, love an opportunity to put my unique spin on a couple of basic items that most women have in their closets;  the classic white shirt partnered with dark wash jeans.  I also thought that this outfit would be a great example for me to demonstrate how Dressing Your Truth has helped me dress in a manner that better reflects my personality.

So there you have it.  White shirt and dark wash jeans two ways.  Although I like the literal interpretation, I think the version with the sweater is more playful, more me.

Today, I am linking up with Patti at Not Dead Yet Style for Visible Monday,

and Inspiration Monday at Two Birds,

and Two Thirty-Five Designs for Casual Friday.

  7. I also prefer it with the sweater and scarf, and I love the way that soft teal looks against the orange sweater! A lovely, pretty combination that makes the standard pieces unique, and shows your fun personality!

  14. Your additional colors really did the trick. A white shirt and dark jeans may be classic, but it's also b-o-r-i-n-g. You've added some personality and zing, like you've said - made it yours. I don't understand why anyone would want to try and look like how a celebrity dressed, but you've made sense of it all by going that extra mile into making it yours.
